I would like to know some information about this chip from people that own it. I have a few questions:

How do you turn off the chip in order to play Live with an original game?

Does it work well?

Was the installation challenging?

Is there a chance of getting banned of live if you are playing an original with the chip on?

Would you cinsider flshing your drive safer?

Is it hard to burn games?(I read somewhere that in order to play backups you need to burn the game differently than ussual.)

I do not plan on playing backups on live that is why I am going with a chip that can turn off rather than flashing my drive.

FINAL QUESTION: IS THE MODCHIP WORTH IT??

I'm in the same boat.

I would rather use my Originals on Xbox Live and play backups for offline use. Since the modchip has some sort of Turn-Off feature in its description I assume it's the safest method but nobody has answered that. There should be no reason to have the chip on while playing an original on live.

Flashing could potentially be discovered even when playing with an original disc while on Xbox Live, could it not? Maybe I am wrong! If I am, than our best bet is to probably Flash rather than get the modchip.

As for burning games, I hear a lot of people complain about coasters! Even with the Verbatims, apparently they switched manufacturers and they went downhill. As long as you can find some high quality media that works, and have the appropriate double layer DVD burner, you should be set. The discs often cost $1-$3 per.

Why would it be safer to flash my drive? That seems like the main way people are getting banned
