Have got one wrapped up for the kids for Christmas and am wondering what I need to connect the 360 to the internet, for online games and what have you. I have a wireless router which connects my Wii, DS, PSP and my laptop to the internet, but those systems are wireless ready. Is the 360 wireless ready or will I have to buy something extra. I do have a wifi max dongle (usb), which I used to use for my PSP, DS & Wii which gave them internet access but the software I have for it is only for DS or PSP (although the Wii still picked the signal up), this was only to send out a wifi signal though.
Nah, you're gonna need something to connect your 360 to your network because it's not wireless ready. Microsoft sells a $80 wireless adapter or you could be cheap like me and just connect an ethernet cable to your router.
Ethernet is the way I'll go I reckon. I do have my wirelessly connected laptop setup in the same room I'd like my 360 set up. Is it possible to run a ethernet cable from the lap top to the 360 even though my laptop connects in a wifi fashion?
you could do that but i wouldnt advise it because that way you will always have to have your lap top switched on if you want to ;lay your 360 online. (also depends if your isp has internet connection sharing)
i would just go for the ethernet direct from a router to the 360.
LoL, my laptop is constantly left on all the time anyway mate due to these things called torrents. The only working phone line I have in my house is upstairs though, hence the router not being in the same room as my 360 will be (but the laptop is).
