i bought the 4gb hard drive not too long ago and a couple weeks later there was no more memory

is there a way to get this memory back?

Maybe try and format it through your PC.

first of all, how do i do that?
and second when i insert the battery/memory it say "no memory stick inserted".

ok to format go to the drive on ur pc for example drive E right click on the mouse and scroll down to format.
and second when i insert the battery/memory it say "no memory stick inserted what is the code at the back of the memory card for example 4GB (MSX-M4GS),
