understand that DVDDecrypter, Shrink, and RipIt4Me are great programs but are not updated anymore and will not do many NEW DVDs ....... there are other programs that will do the NEWER DVDs but cost money.

Like Ihoe said, those programs aren't updated anymore. They're still great programs, but some newer movies with tougher encryptions will be too much for them.

DvdFab HD Decrypter (updated frequently) is a freeware ripper that rips the movie to your HDD. Then Dvd Shrink to transcode and set it up to burn with IMG Burn.

get DvdFab Hd here:
http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm

img burn here

Happy burning!

First off, i wouldn't delete the proggies you had. It has been my experience that the more tools in your toolbox, the less trouble you have in the long run. I know i have my normal routine that i stick with if possible, but occassionally you have to play some mix and match to reach the desired goal. So, the more tools you have available, the better ability you'll have to get through some troublesome discs.

@Ihoe
Good call man! LOL! What's funny or sad (depending on how you look at i guess) i have most of those too!

@alanw07
You've got enough to start rip, burn, and conquering. A couple i would add right away are either (or both ;) ) VobBlanker and/or Fix Vts. These remove stupid little things from the ripped file. Then the process would look like this:
rip with DVDFab Hd Decrypter, process through VobBlanker or FixVts, transcode and burn with DvdShrink/Img Burn.

A good guide for DVDFab, just replace DVDFab with DVDFabHD and FixVTS is very simple to use: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154. AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 are easy payware programs or AnyDVD and DVD Shrink for a combination.

For starters, what you have right now would be able to hack most copy protections, but not all. And that's why it's always good to have a wide array of applications to decipher problems you come across with when backing up new titles with fresh protections.
