If you haven't got a modchip installed then the best thing to do is ring Nintendo and ask them for help. If anybody knows how to run "backup" games without a chip then they will ;)

Well if you want the answer to your question first you need a mod chip installed.I perfer wiikey. If you already have one installed you probably burnt the dvd to fast! I suggest running it at a 4x speed. If that is not the problem then it is probably the type of dvds you are using -R work more often then +R also you want a good quality dvd like verbatim.

alrtight look i said im new to the wii scene... but im not a friggin retard. I know it has to have a mod chip and yes it does, ive purchased back up games from a computer fair an theyve all worked. what chip it is I couldn't tell you, but i jus tried burning to disk and I was wondering what disks i need to burn to.
Just a reminder, this sites purpose is to assist people in there problems, not to post snide comments which dont help the problem. I asked a question and would like it answered, but i'm not gonna sit back an let yous all have a go at me :)

Yes so you should reburn using image burn at 2x speed if you wanna be extra safe and also if it is a wiikey then you might have a region conflict between you wii and the type of game. So if you have a NTSC wii( USA wii) and try to play a Jap game (japenese game) it won't work unless you put in the update disk for the wiimodchip and turn the region to all so all games can be played. You should really figure out what type of mod chip you have if it is a wii key you can go to there home website and download the config dvd and update the mod chip by burning the config disc and putting it in the wii then using a gamecube controller or the reset button to go down to the select regon icon then select all.

It could be the media, try different brand's of media (verbatim DVD-R x16 seem to be the market leader for the Wii)
As Decodem said, if your using a game from an other region it may require you to turn region overide on , and evan with this there are a few games that won't work on other region consoles see below,

hope this helps, well at least more than my last post.

There have been a lot of ppl who ain't chipped asking why disks don't run as has been mentioned before, so much so that it's getting a bit silly. But, I don't look on them as retards either m8... I certainly don't think my comments were snide - just said in fun and I personally subscribe to a sense of humour ;)
The purpose of this forum isn't solely to assist ppl in their problems. Most boards have regulars and it has a social value. With that in mind I believe it's fair enough to have a kid around now and again and actually believe the onus is on the reader not to assume they are being victimised or abused in some way and also to assume the best in others as I try to... even if they take the piss.
No offence was intended by anybody afaics. Might I say that your initial post had all the classic symptoms of someone who wasn't chipped... there was a distinct lack of detail and I'd suggest that should you need help in the future you give as much info as possible in order that you help others to help you?

alright mate that seems fair enough. Its kinda hard to tell whether a person is either joking or jus bein plane rude when posting on a forum, which is why i posted what I did.
now I know your posts where just a bit of fun I think they were kinda funny lol :p so sorry if I took it the wrong way people. And I can understand why people get annoyed when people post on this subject, as there are so many posts.
as for my actual problem, I will just try burning at a slower speed, 4x. I here this is the problem for a couple of people.
thanks for the help people
