79001 not reading discs normally

Whats wrong with my ps2, Its been only 5 days or so since i got it, i bought it online(best buy, and i did this online only because its the silver limited edition you know).

So, I put fifa 08 and the ps2 wasnt reading it, opened flip top, and i see that the disc isnt well placed, well i placed it right in the middle and all the way down, now it works.

Question: Do i have to do this with every single game? I thought I just had to put it there, and the flip top will do that job for me, should i return it ?


Question 2: Magic tools 2 or 3 work with 79001 ?


Question 3: Where can i get a mod chip for 79001 ? please!

#1: yes you have to press the disc down everytime...

#2: Yes Swap Magic 3.8 Coder will work fine on this model of Slim PS2 (I have one as well)

#3: I've saw online that the DMS 4 EZI no solder works fine for this one, I've also read that use of a mod chip in a slim will shorten the life of your laser lens (this I do not know, I have a Fatty Version 9 With ChipMod Pro for)
