i got banned running ixtreme 1.2
Hitachi 59D Drive
was just about to update today only been playing a backed-up COD4 that passed all stealth checks even with that new kreon checker..

I nearly got banned i was playing cod4 original when it said Don XbL signed out of Xbox live. i went to the dash board then xbox live failed and i got error codes but then it worked after i turned my router on then off! Few.

that was a downloaded one,
but my other ones i rip with a samsung pc dvd drive...
i was just about to upgrade my ixtreme to 1.4 too lol,
figures :/
but no biggie i will just go out and get a new one..with the new mobo and benq :)
everybody knows if you mod your xbox then it can happen,but it is kind of out of the blue that i got banned 2 weeks after everybody else i hope another wave isn't on the way :/

Are you going to buy a whole new system lol, or just sell your current one as being banned, trust me do that people pay good money for it.

Sorry to hear that theridges. I figure everone's day will come eventually. That is why i never bothered with the firmware upgrades. I have what i have (5.2) and will just leave it alone.

If your cable is plugged in you're online, period. It doesn't matter if you're playing over LIVE or not. The 360 will still communicate with MS. Even if you're playing under a gamertag which isn't set up for LIVE.
A lot of people who were banned claimed to never play backups online, when in fact they were still connected. They just didn't know.

im not really mad at all,
its not like the end of the world for me you know,
like i said everybody knows this can happen and it eventually did i will just have to go out and get another xbox its no big deal really...
only thing im wondering is if it was C4E speculation about giving that 360 number from the firmware or a bad SS...

Well theridges, i just joined you. Funny thing is that my console has not even been used in 3 days, and the only game i play online is one that no one else really used when they got banned (Rainbow Six Vegas) It was fine the last time it was on then today i fired it up and got the ban code. Oh well, guess i can get that HDMI i have been wanting now.

Wow Steimy, that sux man, were you playing a backup copied from an original? Thats scary if the "wizard" got banned then that means it's just a matter of time before we all get nailed.

yes, it was a backup from an original, on Verbatim discs, booktypes as DVD-Rom and totally stealth checked. So it was about all that could be done.
Trust me, everyone who has followed the Xbox bannings from back in the original Xbox days knows that they will find more and more ways to detect things and ban people.

That's scary man, you did everything you could too. So when you get your new 360, what are you just goint to play originals on it? Or are you going to chance playing the backups again?

what firmware were you running?
i dont understand why it took so long for us to be banned and when we did get banned it was one after another thats kind of wierd IMO.

I was still running 5.2 because updating is not worth the effort. I knew that the firmware would not save people from getting banned or give me any advantages. It was really just made for people who are not bright enough to stealth check their files before burning them.
Now this is where i start to think that MS collecting data and going through a list banning people may be a possibility. Like i said, my system had not even been turned on 3 day prior to my ban.
But i did go get myself a brand new Elite with HDMI, and since there is really only one game i play online (RB6 Vegas) with my gaming clan i suppose there will not be too many that i actually buy. If it was not for my commitment to the clan i would never have even considered buying another console.

Actually, because of the jitterfix, timing issues, and some other problems, it's highly recommended to update the firmware. Xtreme 5.2 doesn't protect against any of the now known problems.
And you got to do alot more checking because now just having the ss, dmi, pfi, and video doesn't guarantee it's stealth. Plus the fact that it's now known that the Samsung/Kreon combo does make reading mistakes.
But sorry to hear about the ban. For kicks, you should run that backup through a few of the tests to see if it was bad.
Congrats on the Elite. I don't know how big your tv is but for the longest time I was running a VGA cable at 1920x1080 to my 50" Samsung plasma. Then I picked up an Elite and all I can say is wow... what a difference between the HDMI vs. the VGA.

So you flashed your elite and brought the original of RB6 Vegas, or did you just leave your old 360 for playing backups and your elite for non-modded originals?

This is true. That is why you should check your files with XDVDMulleter against the online database and make sure they check out. However, how trustworty is that online database? I read somewhere that the database had data from scene releases instead of retail copies which could pose a problem. Was this ever corrected?

That's right. Their database had scene release info mixed in. I've had a couple of originals I ripped that didn't match anything in their database. And, of course, I know the data was good because it came from an original.
It's just hard to tell where the scene releases are really coming from or if they were even ripped properly. Bottom line is the only way to tell if you're getting a good rip is to make it yourself with the most current process (although we all know how this changes week to week).
Of course, if LIVE isn't an issue, then you'll be fine with what the scene releases.

No, the new Elite will remain stock and i will use the other for back ups since i really only play one game online and can buy the 1-2 others i may want to play online. And yes, i already put down my $5 to reserve a copy of RB6 Vegas 2 for when March comes around.
And i have no plans to sell the banned one, now i will just have a back up if something goes wrong with the Elite.
bhetrick, i have to get an HDMI switcher before i can really use the HDMI exculsively, since i only have one HDMI input on the TV and my HD satalite box is also HDMI. I have to plug one in and unplug the other right now. And i figure the picture will be great, my TV is a 56" Samsung DLP and i know Hi-Def TV looks fantastic.
