well im using dvd decrypter , to burn the .DVD to a Verbatim DL DVD's at 2.4X, well i keep getting this error, wondering if its my burner, or the Disk?

i have tryed different software:

1. DVD Decrypter - Error
2. ImgBurn - Error
3. Clone CD - Error
4. Nero 8 -SUCCESS!!!

but when i burn the iso from nero, it doesnt play in my 360, and you can only burn the .iso with nero 8, not the .dvd.

This is the error im getting:

a couple things.
1. Usually power calibration erors are the burner or the disc. Normally i would say the discs but Verbatim is about as good as you can get. You may want to see if there are any firmware updates for your burner.
http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php

2. If you decide to burn the ISO instead of the .DVD file then you must manually set the layer break. I would use IMGburn and do this.
tools-->settings-->write-->layer break. Check user specified and set it to 1913760. Click ok and burn as normal. This is only necessary the first time burning a 360 game
then burn the game

i get this on ImgBurn, i clicked cancel by accident and carried on copying, that never works and you get a coaster.

when i click retry it doesnt come back and burn a perfect copy, this happenes almost everytime i copy a disc, irritating but at least mine work.

good luck i suppose :/

Ok, let us know how it goes. The only other thing that use to give me problems were in the ripping stages and not the burning.
I once had my system mysteriously set up a new DVD drive controller (SCSI or something) and it refused to rip past 50% on a disc. I looked in my hardware manager (under system in control panel) and all of a sudden i see three things listed under my DVD drive section, the two i actually have, and this SCSI thing. I disable the SCSI thing and restart the PC and bingo, everything goes back to normal.
PC and air conditioners have two things in common, neither of them seem to work right with windows open, LOL
Thanks Tech :)

I personally like BenQ. Pioneer also makes good burners. Stay clear of cheap brands like Plextor and Lite-On. I am not real fond of Sony either as they do not make their own burners so you could get several different brands that they just slap their name on.
http://www.meritline.com/benq-1670-16x-d...o-software.html
if you buy that you can get the Q-Suite program it uses (to automatically set the booktype to DVD-Rom for all DVD+R and DVD+R DL media) here:
http://www.benq.com/products/Storage/?product=739
it also has other features.

I have the DW1655 myself which will do what that one can plus it can Lightscribe the discs, but that feature is not a big selling point if you just need something that burns. I rarely use Lightscribe although the discs do look really cool.

From what i have been told the newer LG drives like that one are very good.
this is not the exact model but here is a reveiw, they also have other reviews and do pretty good testing on all kinds of burners and media.

I had a Sony DRU-700A that was a rebaged Lite-On (Sony just slaps their name on it). It worked great for 2 years and then one day just stopped.

well i got the new LG DL Burner, and hooked it up, and its working 100% , no errors now, its weird how a burner can burn DVD-R's just fine, but when it comes to a Dual Layer, it locks up, well my problem is fixed now... thx
