which version of swap magic is better? 3.8 or the 3.6.. I read the description of each and I saw that 3.8 has the ability to add cheat codes on it which I don't need. I'm more concerned about the compatability of it to play ps2 backups. and 3.8 is also more expensive too.

I use a v12 slim btw

and also, where can i buy a laser fix for it (a very reliable site) as I've heard the lens of the v12 slims burns out fast and do i really need it just in case..

You should use the edit feature instead of double posting.
Swapmagic v3.6 is sufficient to load up most of the games you run into. Neither has more support for games, it is just that v3.8 has the cheating feature. As for the laser fix, you won't be needing it as it is only needed when you install a hard mod (chip).
