RSOD, PLEASE HELP!!!

guys i tried making a pandora's battery, when i connected the psp to the computer, my memory stick was 23MB size and there were 6 folders (data,dic,font,kdkn and vsh) , i formatted the memory stick (to continue the process of making my pandora) and all of the folders were deleted. Wehn i disconected the psp, i got a red screen of death saying that theres srious error and wants me to contact sony. i Contacted them and they said they want $145 to fix!!! srsly thats out of the question. i really need help guys, and this psp isnt mine it's my friends, i was dumb i didnt know those folders are what made the psp work, i also cant enter recovery mode... any ideas? please

Wow.. you were probly in your Flash not your memory stick and deleted the folders your psp needs. Damn that sucks hehe. Well there is definatley still hope for the PSP. You need to make a Pandora's battery and memory stick and use it to unbrick. It's virtualy free so don't send it to sony and pay money.
Oh yeah: $145! That's outrageous!

Do you have a PSP with custom firmware?
Or
Did you borrow his PSP to put custom firmware on your PSP?

My guess is that his friend had custom firmware and his Flash0 was set to his Home menu USB port. Then he opened it up and was in the flash0 and formatted that.. just a guess but only he knows I guess..

I agree thats probably the case.
But we can't help until he replies back answering or questions. I am not about to go through and type every possible way he could recover the PSP without knowing what he has on hand to use.

umm i had a psp on firmware 3.52 M33 which i bricked, then i heard about the pandora's battery, so i went and borrowed my freinds psp and now i've bricked both psp's ~~~ i guess i can buy a pandora's battery of ebay but will that even fix my friends psp? im not sure if it can recover the folders
oh and just so you know- i made a back up of the 6 folders on my computer im just thinking if theres a way to put the folders back in the psp

Nope not if you can't go into recovery mode. Even if you did you would probably get a semi-brick PSP due to not backing up the files properly. For flash0 files you would need to change a few settings on the PC so it would show all hidden files/folders.
I wouldn't buy any battery or memory stick off Ebay. You would be better off buying a Datel Tool battery or Hardmoding your Battery and create the Magic Memory Stick with an easy installer.
Would you happen to have a card reader built into your PC that the Pro Duo memory Stick will fit into?
If not then you will need another working PSP so you can connect the PSP to PC via USB to get access to the memory Stick.
After you get a PSP or you have a card reader that will read your pro duo follow the below steps.
Start by downloading the easy installer HERE.
Now Extract it.
After you have extracted it start the easy installer by executing the START file.
Follow DOS on screen instructions.
When it gets to the part that lets you choose what to install on the Magic Memory Stick choose option 4 Universal Unbricker V3 (this will install the needed files to memory Stick that will install 3.71 M33-2 custom firmware onto your PSP).
After you have made the Magic Memory Stick go HERE if you want to Hardmod the battery.
All your doing is soldering a wire between 2 points letting the battery go into service mode. Make sure you are following the correct image for FAT/SLIM Batteries.
If you don't want to hardmod the Battery then buy a retail Datel Tool Battery which is a service battery (Pandora battery).
After you have hardmodded the battery or bought a Datel Tool battery place the Magic Memory Stick into yours/friends PSP then place the Hardmoded/Datel Battery into the PSP.
This should bring up a menu for you to install 3.71 M33-2 to the PSP (by pressing X). Make sure you choose that not the 3.71 official firmware.
After the firmware has been installed open the Battery back up and unsolder the wire to bring the Battery back to normal use.
You have now recovered both PSPs to 3.71 M33-2 custom firmware.

yes i have a multi card reader and i've used it with the memorystick before
[ so your telling me i need to Hardmod (as in open it up and solder) my psp battery? ] ok then ill try that
EDIT: is there a clearer picture of the psp battery?

yeap.
Do you have a soldering iron and a small piece of wire?
If so just follow the image that is linked above and solder the wire between the 2 points it tells you to. After you have finished restoring your PSP and your friends PSP unsolder the wire to get your Battery back to normal mode.
Just make sure you follow the correct guide that corresponds with whatever battery you have FAT/SLIM.

Omg i cant thank you enough, i will try that and im hoping it'll fix my friends psp aswell.
EDIT: one more thing mate, if i solder my FAT battery i can also downgrade Slim psp's with it right? because i heard fat pandora's batteries can also downgrade slims to FM 1.5

A PSP SLIM can not be downgraded to 1.50 firmware.
But if you follow the directions I gave above for the easy installer 3.71 M33-2 custom firmware will be automaticly installed. Both for FAT/SLIM PSP's.
You solder the wire in between the 2 spots to put it into service mode (Pandora battery). Then unsolder the wire (Take it off) to get it back to normal.

Its up to you. I have never done it myself but allot of others have. So if you don't feel comfortable and can afford to buy a Datel Tool battery then I would suggest doing that instead.
HERE is a Datel Tool for $35. Just showing you an example of what the Datel Tool Battery looks like.

SUCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i restored both mine and my friends psp and also made them 3.71 M33 without even buying a pandora [i made my own, it was a pain in the ass but doesnt matter :D ] , and made a slim psp with CFW! thank you so much man :D so happy!
