sorry if this has been posted before, im having trouble getting my wiikey to run. no backups are detected and configs and updates arent either. i have tried just about every burn method ive come across. i think the problem might be with the solder, i will post pics tomorrow. i have tested the connections with a multimeter and have gotten results from all 6 points. i do not have the d2c chipset. does the fact that i have some of the wires sticking out on the top of the wiikey matter? they are secure but some wire is sticking out of the top of the solder. i have a NTSC wii, and the wiikey is not a clone, and as far as i know it should be a working wiikey. any help would be great!

You could try trimming the exposed wires with nail clippers.

Hi if the wii wont read anything but originals i would say either your install is bad or the wiikey is dead, i would work from furthest point to furthest point with a multimeter which in this case is quite easy, put one of the multimeter probes on the leg of the wiikey chip( or its solder pad) and the other probe on the leg of the wii drive chip, when youve done that i would test the points on the wiikey ie pad to pad as thats a nice easy way to tell if you have any bridging. When thats done , if everything there seems to be ok i would try another brand of disk ie the famous verbatim burnt at 4x.
