Hey gang. I am trying to put custom fw on my new slim PSP (3.6 fw) using the pandora easy installers. I've tried 3 different methods and I always get stuck at the same point. I can make the pandora's battery successfully using my old phat psp (it has oe-3.4 on it). The problem is when I get to the step when I insert the pandora's battery and a menu is supposed to pop up, the menu doesnt pop up. The psp just boots up like normal. I am using a 4gb stick that I formatted in FAT instead of FAT32. Anyone have any ideas?

The max memory you can have on your MS is 2GB for the magic memory to work. I suggest to buy a 256MB MS so you wont waste that much money.

Thanks for your quick reply! I thought that I could use a 4gb memory stick to do this, but obviously not! :) I just ordered a 512 stick. I'll let everyone know if this fixes the problem.

This is not a Memory Stick issue.

The issue is...

1) You didn't properly make the Pandora Battery.

2) You created a Magic Memory Stick which installed Booster's MS Multi IPL Loader that lets your PSP start up as normal unless you press L-Trigger to boot to the Pandora Menu (Press L trigger when turning on the PSP if this is the case).

3) you have your PSP plugged in via AC Adapter.

If you have the PSP plugged in via AC Adapter unplug it then insert the Magic Memory Stick then the Pandora Battery.

I have used a 4GB Memory Stick before for a Magic Memory Stick and it worked perfectly fine.

It is just recommended to use a 2GB or lower (actually 1GB or lower) but it doesn't mean it isn't possible if you use a Memory Stick that is higher. It just depends on the Memory Stick itself.

But in any case the above issue is not a Memory Stick issue. The memory Stick wouldn't cause this issue unless of course you had installed Booster's MS Multi IPL Loader, Which even then it isn't messed up you just have to press L-Trigger to get the Pandora Menu you boot up.

My hat is off to you, Mr. larrylje. You were exactly right! I was hitting the circle instead of the X when creating the battery. I have a japanese psp and I guess I am just used to hitting the Circle for the X because they are reversed on the japanese psp. Doh! Thanks to all of you guys for your help. This board rocks

If you installed 3.52 M33 or 3.71 M33 you can go to recovery mode then to hacks toward the bottom and switch the X and O button positions.
