I have a wii with a D2CKey chip. Can I use the channels (weather, news, etc.)? Can I use the shop to buy the older games? Didn't know if you ran a risk of bricking that way. Thanks for any info.

Yes you can do anything you could before, if your worried about bricking it check the how to avoid bricking your Wii sticky, but the only way your can brick your Wii is by updating from a game that is not the same region as your Wii.
