upgraded psp to 3.52 m33 and then formated memory stick to get folders i needed but i also got a load of corrupt data folders when i say loads i mean about 30+ ,when i was upgrading psp i did have just one corrupt data folder but now i have loads

any ideas why and can i get rid of them

Try formatting it through your PC then formatting it on your PSP again.

Did you have emulators and applications on your psp?
Theres a hide corrupt icons setting in recovery mode.
Also if you rename your homebrew with the __SCE__ and %__SCE__ tags it will hide the corrupt icons that homebrew sometimes brings.

example:
Nintendo emulator would be named...

__SCE__NES
%__SCE__NES
