Hello,
Do you have to buy the $50 dollar Microsoft 360 Hdmi Cable, or can you just use a regular one??

Also if you just use component is 1080i as high as you can go with HD DVD Movies

any hdmi cable will work. although not out of my 360, i have a $12 hdmi from www.monoprice.com out of my ps3, and it works great.

in theory, xbox 360 can do 1080p via component, but that is theory, and i have yet to see that work. you have to have a receiver and/or tv that accepts 1080p via component. i have the latest panasonic plasma that i bought 3 weeks ago, and a "next generation" hdmi 1.3a compatible receiver and it doesn't work with 1080p over component. when i called microsoft support, they admitted they don't think it work either. oh well.

A regular HDMI will work, works fine for me. 1080i is high as you can go, if ur tv is a 1080, not a 720
