Help please! Desktop Icons are acting weird...

Hey, I have a slight problem. I'm running Winxp Pro, and have a 7600GT, just so you know. Yesterday I went to change my screen resolution, and after I changed it the icons did this!

The icons appeared as they are selected constantly now. Very annoying! I've tried changing the reso, changing the background, changing the visual effects in XP's settings, changing the theme to Classic mode, restarting the computer, and still, the icons appear like that. Any ideas at all please?

No dice, tried it, nothing. I also tried booting in safe mode, nothing. Also I'm trying to install Kaspersky 7, but it keeps on telling me i have to reboot before the install. I have a feeling the 2 problems are related...

hi there, i might be bale to help you, try opening a window, now click on tools, then folder options, where it sys click items as follows, select single click, apply it, then click it back to double click, then apply that again, then restart the computer, and that should do it.. and if not, try hideing the icons for a min, then show then again, you can do this by right clicking on en empty spot on the desktop and hover your mouse over view, then click on, show desktop icons.

Try is: Right click on the desktop> Properties> Arrange Icons by> Name

EDIT: Try searching throught the microsoft knowledge base> Advanced search> Desktop Icons. Just add words, such as, Desktop Icons do not display correctly, etc.
