So I had a ton of memory stick troubles that were all solved by getting a new PSP. The new one can read the memory stick and save games just fine, however I cannot seem to copy media onto it via a USB cable. Every time I try I get a message saying "Cannot find path specified", and a corrupt version of the file shows up on the memory stick. I can create folders on it just fine, and I can delete the corrupted files. I just cant seem to copy new ones onto it.

I am using a USB cable that came in this pack along with a car charger and screen protector, and it does seem a little odd. The cable has a USB connector on one end, and the other end splits in two and has a mimi-USB connector and a AC adapter plug. Could this be the problem? If so, what sort of cable should I use?

If any USB-miniUSB cable will work then I will try another one I have, if I can find it.

try a different cable, (mabey it crosswired?) or check if your memory card is fake by going into the xmb(Main Menu) and on the little memory stick icon press triangle. if under majigate it says supported if it says anything else, its fake

It says MagicGate is supported. However, I remember seeing that fake cards have an odd memory size, like my card is 2 GB but the total available mem is listed as 1898 MB, so Im not sure if thats any indication or not.

Also, is any USB to mini-USB connection cable fine, or do I need a specific PSP one?

Ok, problem not solved. It works with smaller files, but large ones stall and I get the same old error message. Like I have a 60MB mp4 that copied just fine, but one thats 120MB doesn't. I drag and drop, and the little progress window comes up and the bar advances 3 or 4 blocks, then the error pops up and says it cant find the specified file.

The USB cable I go still has 2 connections on the end, a mini-USB and an AC connector, so could this still be the problem?
I keep trying to find a USB cable without the weird double connector, but I just cant. The package this was in seemed like it had a car charger and a USB connector, but no, it has the weird connector and a car charge with a USB port on it. This stuff is really starting to annoy me.
