I am about to startmodding my box, i only have a IBM T43 laptop so i need a Serial ATA PCMCIA VIA VT6421A card if I can find one in the UK will that work?
I will have to boot the firmware from CD, does anyone see any problems?

I read that PCMCIA cards will not for flashing the firmware.

I've heard they DO indeed work. There's a thread on Xbox-Scene that talks of this.
