Hey guys, I had been renting games from them and I just wanted to share my experience with them. I returned a game to them like a week to their new Tampa shipping facility and now I just got noticed they say they didn't receive it. It's probably a trick they do, trying to cheat people out of money, so just be forewarned about them. Also too, they do not return e-mails, so it's a lousy company to deal with. Wish Blockbuster online had a game service. Any know of a good game rental online place?

Sure other people have had good experiences with them, just I have have seen too many posts on other sites about how they pull this "we didn't receive the game" trick to get money, its sickening and it happened to me.

Dude, they aren't, and i'm sure that they get thousands of games a day, but they need to have a system where they can trace their return envelopes or else people will have to send them traceable so as to not get lost. You should check their feedback online, it's a ton of similar experiences, horrible feedback. I disputed it with Gamefly and said I mailed it on 12-8-07 to the new Tampa facility (i'm in Orlando, so 1 day time). So they seem cool and will try to track it and said I wouldn't be financially responsible. It's just not right for people to use their return envelope and have the game get lost/stolen from the mail and be responsible for it. They should put the return envelope in less conspicuous packaging too so the postal people won't know it is a game, as to not get stolen in route. Tampa just opened the facility so i'm sure it has to do with that, I sent two games back, they received the other, but not one. I'm sure they have a ton of people who act like their game got stolen and try to scam them, and it ruins it for honest people like me and the rest of us who actually did send their game. They charge more and have the packaging traceable in less obvious packaging.

Their customer service is lousy, they don't have a phone number to call you and NEVER return your e-mails, it's awful for such an established company. I could care less about them, I have the Game Pass from Blockbuster so they are useless, you can get like 10 games a month (2 at a time) if you get them and then mail them back next day, whereas you can get as many as you want from them.

Their not the biggest and by far the best online video game source by scamming their customers. stuffs gonna happen. People say a lot of positive things and my experience has been positive. check out this thread.

http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstat...read.id=2415171

of course people are going to say bad things cause their going to screw up from time to time. but to play games all year whatever you want. feed multiple consoles. try new stuff. send back the junk. buy game you love on the cheap. never pay $60 for a game again.

Well my point was that, they need to put the games in less obvious envelopes so they won't get taken from the mail and have them traceable so people won't get get charged for missing games lost in the mail or at the warehouse. It's tough because people can lie and say they sent them and claim they are lost. Their customer service is lousy, they do not respond to emails and don't have a phone number you can call. But $15 a month, what do you expect? It's a good service, nice how you can rent any game.

Actually, I sort of agree with mr x here... I know, shocking.. but still, I had gamefly a couple years back, and over the course of like 6 months, they didnt get back 4 of my games. Its funny, I never failed to receive a game from them, but yet 4 were never returned? I think this goes along with their throttling.. now they wont get money from you because it says if a game is lost in the mail, you arent responsible, but i think they start saying they didnt receive the game, so they have an excuse to cancel you. Id have tried them again but they still only had the california center... hmm, I just wonder if I can get another account with them now, especially since they have a center apparentally in tampa, and I live about 2 hours north of Tampa.

Now, they did return my emails, basically saying that they can reinstate my account, IF they happen to recover any of the games. Even like a year after, when I found out that we locally had a bunch of postmen arrested in our county for stealing mail, they still said the same thing: "If we recover any of the games..." Which at that point, it just still seemed like they were implying that i kept the games.... when really what use would I have to keep the damn games?

They also have a center in pittsburgh where I get my games from. I have to admit, they had more problems with just the one center in la. after pittsburgh opened it's been a steady improvement to the point that I haven't had an issue in like months.

Pittsburgh had growing pains. tampa just opened. give em a chance.

but the bigger point is that renting games rocks. And then who can give that to you over the long term. i rented from blockbuster for awhile and stopped not because of glitches here and there but because it's obvious they're not sinking a whole lot of money into video games.

Other companies obviously are, including gamefly.

The biggest problem I had with Blockbuster... is well, the nearest one is 12 miles away...which ends up being just under 1 gallon of gas every trip I'd make... so that ends up being close to 3$ a trip in gas alone, which increases their price. For 1 game out at a time, its the same price prior to the gas consideration as gamefly.

Like I said, I just wonder if they canceled me years ago, having my address as a 'problem address,' if I can start a new account now without a problem.

The Tampa center is real nice, I live in Orlando so returning them to Los Angeles shipping center (no idea why they didn't allow Pittsburgh before) was crazy. Just they need to hide the contents better and have a traceable envelope, even if it cost $2 more a membership.

Weird though that there is no mention of the tampa center on the web site, and anything I found says they will be opening it in like January or so... Yeah I agree they need to be a little more inconspicuous though.... I dunno, but a lot of people would see "well thats obviously a game.. free gift for myself, kids, or ebay."

I had Gamefly for a little over a year. I live in Arizona and my games used to come from L.A. After awhile I got messages that they would not recieve my games. Sometimes it took two weeks to get a game back to them. What is funny is I would mail the games the same time as my Netflix movies which never got lost. I finally just dumped Gamefly.

Yeah, see I think they limit you in the amount of games you can rent a month by acting like they didn't get them, because I sent mine to Tampa (1 day from Orlando) and they announced it a week later as being received (not the lost game, different one). I get two at a time and then mail them the next day back. It is weird they don't talk about the Tampa center, I notice I send mine to Tampa to return them, but get them from LA. They need more than 3 nationwide for sure. Oh hell yeah man, you know the postal people will see those games and take em for their kids, esp this time of year. lol, they didn't get the phrase "going postal" for nothing. Gamefly is in a tough spot, sure they get so many scammers who like the game and keep it and report it lost, it's like what are they supposed to do, tough deal. When your renewal comes up for Gamefly, cancel it and then put the reason code as can't afford it, and they give it to u like $15 for 2 games at a time. If you have a local Blockbuster, Game Pass is the way to go, I rented like over a 100 360 games, lol they always saw my ass there.

Well I did that too... local girl at blockbuster was cute as hell... but well she mentioned she had a boyfriend in Pennsylvania (I dont even know how that worked out since she lives in florida), but anyhow, like i said, nearly a gallon of gas every time i wanna go to the closest one.. the roads are all tore up between here and there as they are 4 laning the road, and... well, mediocre selection.
