Hi I have flashed my drive with textbook guide to 1.2 but I understand I need to flash it to 1.4 less risk of getting banned from xbox live.

However iv loaded up my hitachi drive to mode b, got it viewable in windows opened up the firmware I used to flash it and typed RESTORE X and it says Hitachi Build not detected but I know that the hitachi drive is definatly the correct letter that I am using etc

Need help quick if possible. thanks

bump can someone please give me some instructions how to restore the hitachi drive back to original firmware so i can put newest firmware on (i currently have version 1.2iXtreme)

Ok Make sure the X is the drive letter in windows first o.k. If you did put the drive letter mostlikely G F A B one of those four. then go on xbins and get firmware toolbox. open that up. click direct drive dump. then click yes to open the firmware. SAVE THE KEY just in case.then go to tools then recover lost original firmware. Click detect differences then it will flash. original firmware. then just flash as usual

hi mate followed your steps and it says there are no differences in the firmware on the drive or on the recovered original file...

also when using the 47.bin file from maximus it says the only difference is the key sector (obviously because its a different key)
