1. my pc doesnt have a sata chip in it, but can i just buy a usb 2 sata convertor and use that? i have a samsung drive if that helps.

2. according to best buy, all dvd burners can burn dual layer dvds. is this true? because i thought you needed a special burner to do that.

3. i found a thing that i install into the top of my 360 so when i flash for a new game, i dont have to reopen the 360. is 70 bucks with next day delivery and has flashing green leds. is this a good idea to buy?

1.USB/SATA converter won't flash a Samsung. Get a VIA 6421 PCI card.

2.All current DVD Recorders on the market should do DL discs.

3.Firmware updates aren't very often so it's a waste of money IMO.

hey when i look for the VIA 6421 PCI card on newegg.com, i get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...21%2bPCI%2bcard and that says its a rc 212. r they the same thing? and is tekgems a legit site? cuz they got the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...21%2bPCI%2bcard for link 12 bucks here. http://tekgems.com/Products/la-pci22-vt6421a.htm

Yeah, the via sata vt6421a. I can't get my pc to recognize it and I get resource conflict every other boot. I'm pretty much at my ends. I can't get the nForce mobo, because my P4 is not compatable with it. So, I'm going to try to use nLite to integrate the drivers of the via sata so I can get my pc to recognize it. Wish me luck. Any other ideas or success stories getting your pc to recognize this Via Sata vt6421a?

Try it in all the other available slots.

Also you could try freeing up some other IRQ's etc by disabling in the bios anything that isnt used that might be taking up an IRQ....personaly I have the floppy drive, serial ports, firewire, and parallel printer ports disabled on mine.
