can someone please answer this question for me?

if i play a divx video file from my toshiba laptop running windows vista home premuim, will it play on my tv screen with usb connection from the phillips dvp-5982 ?

basically wgat i mean is:

usb cable running from laptop windows vista premium to phillip dvd player. phillips dvd player connect to the tv. video playing on tv from the phillips dvd player which is having video being fed through laptop.

also, is this dvd player region free and will it play on a Pal television.
