I'm sure you have all heard this about a trillion times... anyways...
I just want to make sure how to do this thing (I might break my PSP).
Can someone quickly outline how to install custom firmware on psp slim with 3.73 official firmware and do it so that I don't have to get another modded psp or another battery... Like backing up eeprom and restoring battery to normal.
Can someone just give me a quick outline to this?
Thanks so much.

I'm sorry to be the one to bear the bad news, but you have to have another psp with custom firmware to downgrade. Sorry =\

After you've downgraded you can use a custom firmware pandora to turn your battery back to normal...i've done it before....several times.

Actually when you on OFW you can't create pandora....
But if your on a PSP with Homebrew you could create pandora....
SO if youron CFW you could create it...
You could even create it on version 1.50!

I don't think you understand... My parents bought the Daxter Entertainment Pack from Costco for my birtday and there is only a battery, 1 gig memory stick, AC power adapter and another attachment for the AC adapter.
Can I somehow mod my PSP with these supplies without buying any more stuff?

ok there are 2 ways to downgrade a slim psp
1. use another modded psp to make pandora's battery and make a magic memory stick
the pandora's battery can be reversed with the eeprom
2. you could make a hardmodded psp battery and magic memory stick this also can be reversed but you would need to be decent at soldering

What's the FW of your PSP...?
If it is lower than 3.50 you can use the recovery files but if your are higher than 3.50 your only chance if by pandora...
You need a homebrew enabled PSP for that so CFW's works you could even create it on 1.5 cause 1.5 is a homebrew enabled PSP...
But if you don't happen to have a homebrew enabled PSP you could try and use Total Newbi installer (the link if found in my sig)
PS. If your battery doesn't look like the one there.. just say it..
:)
Actually YES BUT there's a risk that your battery won' work after you have hardmodded it....

What do you mean by..."If it is lower than 3.50 you can use the recovery files"..are you referring to downgrades..?

Yes... If your on OE you could use the recovery files.... you could even use them on 3.51 and 3.52 I think... But it won't work on 3.71 so they made a new one for 3.71...

Ok so I need a CFW PSP for making Pandora... But how can I turn my PSP OFW 3.80 into 3.71 M33 CFW with only the stuff that I bought?
Oh and yes I updated to 3.80 OFW...

@Rogdrik I seem to have to confused everybody or at least someone or even you...
But here is how I can conclude it...cause atsome point in my past posts I have made some mistakes...
Here it is...
OFW
3.51 Above - Pandora...
3.50 Below - See the Guide
CFW
Can use recovery files at any FW except 3.71 cause 3.71 have different recovery files...
I found this guide about months ago and I reviewed it ...
The guide is
HERE This is a guide to downgrade OFW... using pandora and lumines and not using pandora and lumines....
