Hey, has anyone played the Boogie game yet? I tried playing it with my wii (Wiikey installed & NTSC-U), but the "Initializing system update" message came up. My firmware is 3.1U - assuming its the latest??? So i dont understand why the game is trying to update my wii.

Has anyone experienced the same or does anyone know what I should do? Should i just allow it to update since its a US game (I believe) on a US wii???

Thanks...

Probably tring to update the Wii to allow use of the usb mic. However I am not sure about it so use caution until we know for sure.

From a quick search around it does appear to be an update to install the usb driver for the microphone. Reports are that it does not change the firmware version.

Where's the party?!?

Logitec has one specifically made for the wii. I ordered mine online.

Decodem - Have you got Boogie too? You accepted the update?

Well I do have boogie, but no microphone I bought the game used for 10$ and they rippesd me off because they didn't give me a microphone. I thought you couldn't buy them seperate. So do you have to buy the microphone online or can you buy at a store?

Right - back to my original question. I've been looking at other threads regarding the Boogie game. As far as I am aware, no one has confirmed for definite that its safe to update using this game. Can someone who downloaded it, who also had the same update message, confirm please.... Cheers...

Both Boogie and High School Musical install updates for the use of microphones. No harm whatsoever.

The update on Boogie is just for the microphone, nothing to do with the firmware. I play both backups of Boogie & High School Musical without any problem at all.
You can find the microphone (Logitech) at Best Buy for $24.95
