The "game could not be started" error has nothing to do with the Battery.
We need a little more information.
What application are you using to convert the battery to a Pandora battery?
What firmware does your FAT PSP have?
What firmware does your SLIM PSP have?
Is it official or custom firmware?
Do you have the kernel mode set to the correct kernel with whatever application your using needs?

Hi Larry once again you here to help, i am currenly using this guide as i type. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/580254.
Slim has 3.71 m33-2
I gave the fat back it had 3.40-oe-a
Custom firmware
I dont know the correct kernel mode
I was using the total newbie installer, but i heard that problems occur with windows vista therefore im trying this guide above, will report back if its successful.

I think the issue your having now is the Pandora Creator your trying to use is a 1.50 kernel application which the PSP SLIM can not run due to not having 1.50 kernel capabilities.
But your in luck.
Follow the guide above doing everything it says to do. When you get to the part to create the Pandora Memory Stick use this ospbt_0.4.zip which you can download HERE. It uses 3.XX kernel.
Extract the file after you download it and drag the ospbt folder to the /PSP/GAME folder.
Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run OS Pandora Battery tool. Press X to continue at the warning screen. Then make sure you back up your battery EEPROM before converting it to a Pandora Battery.
If you want to convert the battery to normal make sure you choose "flash only serial from eeprom.bin"
This guide HERE might be a little bit less complicated and will work on your custom firmware PSP SLIM as well.

All you can do is try to use it. It just depends on the memory stick itself. I used a 4GB before and it worked perfectly fine.

Sorry your having such a hard problem with this. But unfortunilty some do have these problems.
Try going HERE to this guide to create the Magic Memory Stick.
When you get to the part that tells you to create the Pandora Battery just use the ospbt_0.4.zip I linked above to convert it.
If you already have the battery converted to a pandora battery then leave it as is. You can start the PSP via AC Adapter to run the easy installer. (If you backed up your eeprom.bin make sure you save that to the PC before following the guide I just linked).

I bet if you went to a retail store and bought a 512 MB stick or 1GB it would work for you. Most people that have issues using my guides is due to fake memory sticks.

Vista could be the issue as well so using XP is a good idea before buying a new memory Stick.
If you use 1 of the guides I linked you to then all you need to do is insert the Magic memory Stick and then battery.
If your using the U.P.M.S that you originally linked to above then you need to hold the L Trigger button down for 4 seconds to boot into the UPMS menu.
