yeah, I'll be doing some testing with my grounds later, but I've already tripple checked EVERYTHING else.

FYI, I've installed about 10 modchips ranging from the PC-BIOXX to the Xecutor 2.3, and have never had a problem before. I'll letchya know if I see any change.

Might just want to email them with a link to this forum. I'm personally holding off until I see what jdam finds... (but then again, I have an external programmer in the mail...)

i got my chip from system-mods.ca and am experiencing the same problems.

I got my chip and installed it all properly (i think) and then put back together my xbox. I turned it on, it stayed on for a second, then turned off, then on, then off, then on but this time it stayed on and the light around the eject button started flashing red and green. i went upstarirs to get a drink thinking maybey if i left it it would work (maybey it takes a while for the first time) i came back down to my xbox and the light was still blinking(nothing on the tv screen) so i turned it off and tried to put the switch to disable but when i touched the switch i got a small shock and noticed that it had melted in the time i went upstairs to get a drink. I dont know why it melted i dont think anything I did wrong could have made the switch melt.??? after i used needle nose pliers to puck the molten switch over to disable, and turned on my box. same thing exept the light on my chip (xecuter2.3lite) was red instead of green. my drive wont open and the light just flashes though i dont think the switch is going to melt anymore but i could be wrong...has this ever happend before?

hI!

I just bought a pre-moded xbox with a 120HD and an Xecuter2.3 Lite.

I have no idea about all this stuff and I just bought the one that seemed to be less trouble to play.
It was when it arrived that I realiced for the first time that it would not work straight forward.

So I went in to all this bios stuff, through endless forums and guides (which all seem to be different from one an other).

And after several attempts I got the xbox to keep the cd-rw with the bios inside and shut off by it self, as it said on several instructions.
Once that happened i turned it on again and i got the 3 switch off/on's and then the red/green flashing (the light in the chip stays in green).
the dvd drive does eject if I push the eject button continuously, but it does not seem to read the cd-rw with the bios again or anything like that.

From what i understand in several of the guides I must have a v1.5 or v1.4 xbox, since its brand new and the dvd tray opens as you turn it on (before my bios issue), also the screen appears black at all times.

I have no idea about the bank 1 bank 2 switch, I dont know how it should be set up to run properly or anything. I assumed (due to lack of info) that the protected/unprotected switch should be on unprotected to install the bios, so I did.

I'm pretty frustrated and i dont know what is going on at all.

The site that I bought it form is not giving me any specific information or accurate (working) links to use the right files and follow the right steps.

please help if you have any idea about this whole thing, i just wanted to play games.

thx.
