Can anyone give me a clear guide on how (if it's possible) to do this and what your opinion is on each firmware?
Thanks,

dont do it keep 3.71 M33-4, trust me. It's more secure, more options, stable 1.50 kernel add-on (only for FAT PSPs)...
im sure many people will tell you this.

Well, I just checked my firmware and it says 3.73HX-1.
I thought I had 3.71M33-4.
Why? Because 3.73HX-1 has:
1.50 Kernel addon.
3.73 kernel.
M33 recovery.
Working VSHMenu.
And...
Well, practically, it's the same as 3.71M33 - except the digit of the firmware number of course.
So I'd recommend the firmware.
Here's my mini-guide to installing 3.73HX-1.
1)Download the 3.73HX-1 file.
2)There should be an UPDATE folder - Place the UPDATE folder in X:/PSP/GAME.
3)Execute the program from the XMB(PSP menu) and just follow the on-screen instructions.
4)Once done, you can optionally delete the UPDATE folder from your PSP.
-------------------------------
Install the 1.50 AddOn:
1)Locate the UPDATE folder in your download - Click here.
OK, once you have the UPDATE folder, place it in X:/PSP/GAME.
2)Run the program in XMB.
3)Once done, you can delete the UPDATE folder.
That should do it =)

Yeah...
There's no way for a Slim to get the 1.50 kernel added on...
But lots of homebrew games are now specially created for the Slim.

it isn't possible for the slim to run the 1.50 kernel (hence the 1.50 homebrew) since its hardware blocks it
we have to hope most homebrew will be written on 3.xx kernel from now on
1.52>2.0>1.5>3.40 OE-A>3.71 M33-4
3.60>4.01 M33-2

The Slim was specially created for the kernels 3.60 and up...
If someone created a 3.52 kernel addon, it wouldn't work in the Slim because it's under 3.60.
