I was upgrading a console that I had previously modded for someone, when halfway through the upgrade he told me that he couldn't get on Live and he checked all his connections also. After upgrading him to 1.2 (78), I connected him to my network and he was banned. Then came the messed up part...I connected my xbox that was just connected a little while ago and now I was banned. I think they are banning using ip addresses ALONG with console ID's. Does this make any sense to anyone. Next question is will closing my account with Comcast and reopening with new NAT,IP and DNS remedy the problem or is the console ID banned also. Help me...or confirm for me. Hope this was helpful to someone...

the console is the only thing banned.
changing isp wont help you.
also, are you sure you are banned?
xboxlive has been down (for some people) all evening,
you can read about it on xboxlive/support.com
