You sure it froze?

I know for the most part of it, it runs text along the screen. Then when it gets to a certain point it stops for about 3 mins before you start seeing text run down the screen again. Couldn't tell you if its flash1 as i wasnt paying that close of attention when it was done. Anyways, be patient with it.

I have the same problem with my psp slim. It has firmware 3.71m33-2 previously installed too, but however I was the idiot who left the Pandora battery inside the psp for awhile, which I wasn't supposed to do. And then after it bricked I tried to redo the magic memory stick again and it just froze trying to format flash1 like this...

"Loading updater modules... OK
Formatting flash0... OK
Formatting flash1... (stays like that forever)"

There was a bug in 3.71 M33/M33-2 that could corrupt the flash0/flash1 if you tried accessing the flash0/flash1 through the VSH menu.

The only way to fix this issue was if you had backed up your NAND. If you backed it up then restore it via Universal Unbricker V3 and Pandora.

If you didn't back it up then your out of luck at this time because as of now there is no fix for PSP SLIM having this issue (you can not use someone else's NAND dump only your own).

If you have a PSP FAT then there is still hope.
