I am trying to backup 1 of my 360 games. I am using xbc 2.7 I have the drives I need to do this but when I burn the game to a disk and put it in my xbox it says "To play this game put it in a xbox 360 console". I have been reading alot of forums and it sounds like I need to have xtreme firmware compatibility 4 my 360. Is this true? If it is where can I find the update. I have look at xbins and found tabs but all they do is ship me to differant websites. I have tsstcorp dvd rom sh-d162c and burning with tsstcorp cd/dvdw shs182m, so I am sure I am ok there.
I have been using hp dvd+r dl disk and just ordered some verbatim disk
there 2.4x disk. If any one can help me I would appreciate it thanks.

what firmware do you have on your 360 now?
as long as your xbox has custom firmware it should play the backups.
what program are you burning with?

its the firmware that came with the 360. I was told that i did not need to do anything to it. as far as burning programs go I have used img burn and xbc. nothing seems to work. If I must do a firm ware update how do I do that and where can I find the update?

You gotta mod your 360 or it won't play backups. Check the stickeys or www.360mods.net or google it.

skinner2 is correct, it must be modded with ixtreme firmware.
look for textbooks guide on 360mods.com.
it gives step by step detailef instructions on how to mod the 360.

Thanks everyone for your help. It helped out alot. I have read the book and it sounds real easy but i dont thank i want to do that. maybe i can find someone that has done it before. Thanks again.

i have the same problem with a couple of games, my 360 is modded ,i dont no what firmware iv got tho ,you shud be able to find some1 to mod it for you. i also found clone cd to be very good
