i've just tried DVDfab(several times!)but instead of:
VIDEO_TS (with contents)
ROM (with contents)

i just got:
VIDEO_TS (with contents)
AUDIO_TS (empty)

this was despite ticking the non-dvd box??
so i also tried the platinum version with the clone option but that didn't copy the video files properly(either no-video, just audio or just plain stuck in one spot??

please help before i go insane! :''{

What dvd/data are you trying to rip? That's probably a good place to start.

Don't worry about the AUDIO_TS, it is supposed to be empty....The VIDEO_TS folder contains the sound and video of your movie.
Like 7thsinger said, tell us what kind of data DVD is. You could also try the old DVD Decrypter and rip an ISO to the hard drive.

i have a few DVDs(video) that have "bonus content for your pc"(wallpapers, sounds etc.)
what I'd really like is a program that will make a clone of the disc(video&bonus data) without the need to add the video and then add the data separately.
i've got dvd43 on my system to remove the region locking but i can't seem to find a program that will clone BOTH video&bonus data together.

When you used DVD Fab HD Decrypter, with the non-DVD box ticked, did you browse the Video_Ts folder? Your extras are probably in that folder. Try to play the ripped files and see if you find them.

Rip the video as you normally would. Then browse the DVD and drag and drop the rest of the files inside the movie folder.

Example: Say you are ripping "Ultra Hyped Generic Movie"

It will go to "C:\ULTRA_HYPED_GENERIC_MOVIE

Inside this folder will be "VIDEO_TS" & possibly "AUDIO_TS"

Now, browsse the DVD and drag and drop the other files to "C:\ULTRA_HYPED_GENERIC_MOVIE\"

That's it.

If you need to compress the video, make sure you take into account the size of the data content. If there is 150MB of non-movie data, reduce the size of the compression by 150MB.

So, if in DVD Shrink for example, the project is auto compressed to 4464MB, reduce this by 150MB by using custom compression settings to 4314MB. As you can see, the video quality will take a hit because of the data.

Another method of doing this would be to make an ISO of the DVD using something like Nero, Disc Juggler, etc... But you will ahve to make it as a Data ISO rather than a DVD Video ISO. Programs like DVD Decrypter will make a DVD Video ISO ignoring the files that are not related to the movie, or at least I am pretty sure that's how it works, because I rarely if ever use ISO mode and I never browse my backups to see if the data files are in there.

Hope this helped :)

I CRACKED IT!! :D

Alcohol 120%
It makes perfect duplicates and doesn't need any extra work either! -and doesn't need telling if/where there's any extras!

(just use a program to remove protection/region-lock(i use dvd43))

ps it can also be used to make TRUE copies of CDs (rather than just mp3 copies(which slightly lose quality))
