so i am trying to figure out how to tin vias

now from what i gather,
1) i burn some of the laquer off first with my soldering iron (appx 3 seconds)

2) take the soldering iron off and let it cool

3) place the soldering iron back on the via and hit the via with the solder

is this correct?

Best way to do it is as follows.

Go to radio shack and pick up some solder flux. (not flux with solder in it)

Take a tooth pick, dip it in the flux, touch it to the point you wish to solder. (not too much so it spreads to the joining points)

Take some solder, touch it to the tip of your gun.

Touch the tip of your gun to the point where you just put the flux on. The solder should flow tinning the point.
