Few Questions
1.) What kind of connection between the Tv and the PS3 is there?
2.) What are your current video settings.
3.) What settings is it asking you to change, and to what?

just a few assumptions here but im guessing your from the usa right?
if so the uk games you bought will work, but your tv might not be able to display the pal signal that uk games transmit.
if you can try connecting your ps3 to a newer model tv. it doesn't have to be a hd tv just one that supports both ntsc(us) and pal (uk).
you might need to get a new tv set.
im not sure why def jam icon works and the other 2 don't. does def jam have an option to select 50hz or 60hz when you play the game?

Any ps3 game should work on any tv. But just for kicks go into your tv's settings and see if you can change it from ntsc to pal. My old tv used to allow me to do that. BUT. I think you should go back into your settings on the ps3 and make sure you have the right settings on. TRY ALL of the settings 480, 720, and see what happens. Make sure you have the right settings on every time you play a game. Also, just asking, if you are from usa, why are you buying uk games? They are way more expensive over there.

if you are using rca cables you should have your ps3 set to output to regular tv output not any hdtv resolution output.

Are you sure you have your tv set to the video output you have your ps3 plugged into? You know, some tv's have input 1, 2, 3 etc. Make sure you have the right one on for the right input you are using.
