I'm quite at a loss with this one. I recently had someone make me a memory stick and a Pandora's battery. I was able to put the custom M33 firmware on my PSP. I recently purchased a new PSP however, I lost the memory stick that I used to install the M33 firmware. Could someone please help me fix my memory stick to work with the Pandora's battery?
If I attempt to boot the PSP with the battery now, it comes up as a blank, black screen.
You don't need a custom firmware PSP to create the Magic memory Stick.
Go HERE and follow this guide. It will create a Magic memory Stick which will install 3.71 M33-2 to the PSP. You already have a Pandora battery so skip the bottom part of the guide.
dont worry u can convert memory stick again to magic memory stick. all u need is memory stick pro duo higher than 64 mb and less than 1 gb.
follow my instructions. and make urself a new magic memory stick.
REQUIREMENTS
- A spare Memory Stick Pro Duo of less than 4Gb. (256Mb should be
enough for all applications).
- A PSP with a Custom Firmware such as OE, M33 or WC, or a PSP with
the 1.5 original kernel.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
- Connect the PSP to the PC with the Memory Stick inside via the USB
Connection.
1- Format the Memory Stick using any utility.
2- Use mspformat to format the Memory Stick logically.go to start button and open run application and write cmd. now u will have command prompt opened now drag the mspformat.exe from the mspformat folder to the command prompt. now press space button and write the removable disk drive name for example my drive is F so first i drag the mspformat.exe to command prompt space and drive F.
3- Remove the Memory Stick and disable the USB connection.
4- Connect the Memory Stick again via the USB connection of the PSP.
5- Manually create the PSP/GAME (optionally PSP/GAME150) folders on the Memory Stick.
6- Copy the installer program to the PSP/GAME
7- Copy the 1.50 official updater to the root of memory stick and rename it to UPDATE.PBP
8- Remove the Memory Stick and disable the USB connection.
9- Run "installer" through the firmware on the PSP. This application
will create the firmware files on the root of the Memory Stick, as
well as msipl.bin on the root of memory stick.
10- Connect the Memory Stick again via the USB connection of the PSP.
11- Now copy the msipl.bin from the root of memory stick to the msinst folder in the computer.(remember to copy it not cut it) now open command prompt again and drag the msinst.exe to the command prompt now press space and write the removable disk letter for example F press again space and drag the msipl.bin to command prompt then press enter.
now press Y and u will get at the end written MS BOOT CODE.
- Congratulation, you are now in posession of a "Magic Memory Stick"
enjoy!
Nice guide but I would defiantly choose an easy installer over all those steps any day. Plus the easy installer will work on a official or custom firmware PSP.
