i just installed a modbo 750 onto my v7 ps2 perfectly. no short circuits. i triple checked each point to make sure absolutely nothing was wired the wrong way.

i just finished putting it back together and the ps2 works perfectly. it plays original ps2 games. but when i put in a backup, it goes to the red screen and says to put in the original ps2 or psx game. is there something i must do to "turn on" the chip? the diagramme from the modbo site did not show a point to connect the "cx" point on the chip...instead, the diagramme showed a point "z" that was not on the chip....could the cx not being soldered be the problem?? thanks..

You need to solder that connection, use this diagram it tells you where it goes, it wont work without it.
