I have been off the PSP scene for some time and have recently returned.
I used to play my backed up ISO's using Devhook (Ver 0.42 i believe).
When i have come back i see that custom fireware has appeared.

So can i ask, which is the best and where can i find help with installing your choices.

Is Devhook still the best method? How does it compare?

Thank you for the help

No need of Devhook, as No1Noob said. The cfw(custom firmwares) are the best.

Thank you for the quick reply.

Is 3.71 and M33-4 2 different firmwares that run together or is 3.71M33-4 one fireware?

Does the new custom firmware flash your PSP?

Can this new fireware play PS1 ISO's and PSP ISO's?

How safe is it using the custom fireware?

Thanks

3.71 M33-4 custom firmware is just a modified firmware of the official 3.71 Sony firmware.

It will let you do everything the DevHook did plus more.

3.71 M33-4 will play PSX/ISO/CSO/ISO VIDEO it also has a built in UMD ripper it has NO UMD drivers that allow you to play the ISO/CSO without a UMD in the Bay and much more.

It is totally worth your while to update to custom firmware.

The custom firmware needs to be flashed to the PSP. But if you are at 1.50 or have some sort of custom firmware installed you can use a Pandora Battery + Magic Memory Stick to update to 3.71 M33 which is the safest route to go.

if you don't want to use that method then you can update fairly safe if you follow all directions completely when doing it manually.

What firmware is your PSP at now?

Yes you can if you install the 1.50 ADD ON-2.

Give me a few to make a guide for making a Pandora battery and Magic memory Stick.

You can update manually using the guides below.

Go HERE to update to 3.52 M33-4 (this firmware must be installed before going to 3.71 M33-4 custom firmware).

After you update to 3.52 M33 go HERE to update to 3.71 M33-4 + 1.50 ADD ON-2.

If you want to use the Magic Memory Stick + Pandora Battery method give me a few seconds to write up a guide.
