I got a chip put in my system years ago and I can't remember how to boot burnt games. For original games, I have to close the bed and hold
the reset until the Sony slogan comes up and then it will boot.
There was another way to boot burnt games, but I can't remember how to do it.
Can anyone help me on this.

by using Gameshark or Swap Magic.
If you wanne boot ps1 backup ( roms ) games
just load an original ps1 game run it until it comes on the screen of playstation 1 then you take the ps1 game out and put the backup in =D Easy... But for emulators you gonna need Swap Magic.

If you could figure out which chip is in the system, this would be a big help.
