Safe to transfer a HD?

I have a 360 with a 20GB HD that is stock (not modded), and a core system with a memory card that is flashed, and so far works fine for online play.

What I want to do is put the HD I have on to the flashed core console, and use that as my primary 360 until/if I get banned.

So my question is, if the core gets banned, will it stuff the HD?

Because if my core with my HD on it gets banned, I want to put the HD back on my 360 that is not modded. I'm pretty sure it's just the *console* that gets banned, but just wanted to check in case I stuff the HD.
