I've just purchased a Compaq presario computer. It has a HP dvd writer 300N installed. Can anyone please advise which blank DVD's are compatable with this. I recently purchased some Princo blank discs, but I get a message "insert blank media", when I have inserted a blank disc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

did you buy -r or +r discs. Your hp, i think should be +r since hp is that way (unless it is dual format-- +/-r/rw)

Princo are not well regarded in this forum. I am not sure about +r, but riteks are a good reliable -r that can be found for just over $1/disc.

your right princo sucks i believe hp is always +r so i suggest buying fuji, tdk media they in my opinion are the best
