No disc is impossible to copy. Persistence is the key.
Okay. I have only been at this DVD copying thing for about three weeks. However, before I received my new computer, I had been reading extensively on this forum and others like it about the different methods used to copy DVD's. One thing I have found is that you cannot give up, and that there is a way out there to back up that coveted DVD. My tools are IFOEdit, Nero 5.5.10.42, Daemon Tools, IMGTools, and DVD Decrypter.

Obviously, DVD Decrypter is used to rip DVD files less that 4.35 GB to an ISO file and simply burn using the included burn engine. For DVD's larger than 4.35 GB, I rip all files to the harddrive.
IFOEdit then splits the movie for me and removes any unwanted streams.
IMGTools then creates an ISO file.
Daemon tools then mounts the ISO file as a DVD playable from the harddrive.

Using this method, you can check the results of your DVD copy method before you waste valuable Ritek G04 DVD-R's.

I used this method for Matrix Reloaded, which was simple. The problem I had with that DVD was that the menu VOB was in 02_01, and I was only including 01_01 on the burned discs. Boom, problem solved. Last night, I was trying to copy Biker Boyz, and there was a splash screen that had to run before the main movie(title set 40?). Boom, problem solved. I know this method includes multiple steps, but it is well worth it, and helps to understand this whole complex DVD copying game. Rule number one is to use good media. I only use Ritek G04 DVD-R's. Swear by 'em. Riteks are indentified on the disc by the following: HX-L19XXXXXXXXXXXX, where X is any number. The L19 description is for G04 dyes.

Newer versions of Nero, and some older versions, may give you the dreaded 'file reallocation error'. I would suggest using the awesome 5.5.10.42 version, or you could decrement the (VTC Title Set?) by one using IFOEdit. Sorry for the long post, but I just thought I would share my methods of success with you all.

Hey Hot120,

I have loaded Nero6 and started getting the "File reallocation Failed" message. You say the older version is more stable? Where can I download the older version. I am using the demo version for now.

I would like to look at Infoedit, but it says it won't work with Windows XP, which I have.
