Help...New PSP wont work

Hi
Newbie on the forum. Hope I am in the right place, i have had a look through previous posts and FAQ and cant find any relevat posts.

Just bought my son a psp for Christmas and when we try to play it comes up with "incorrect configuration contact helpdesk". The game comes with an upgrade to 3.52 but this wont run either, same message.

I have tried to update wirelessly but get DNS errors although I have opened up the correct ports, I think.

I downloaded the latest update onto the memory card but you get the same incorrect configuration message.

I also cant get into the recovery mode, it boots up normqlly even though the Right shoulder button is kept pressed.

The psp is brand new and has version 1.50 on it.

I have been in touch with the helpdesk but dont hold out a lot of hope as they have asked me to wait up to a week for a call back.

Anybody have any ideas what I can try.

i doubt it will have 1.50 on it, let alone a brand new psp with 1.50. 1.50 was the launch firmware when the psp first came out.

most likely, the flash0 is corrupted. there is no way, by normal means, you can redo the flash0. you will need, what we call, pandora's battery and magic memory stick to redo the flash0.

According to the system information it has software version 1.50 or am I looking in the wrong place.

i would say, consider yourself lucky, but since system isn't working, it's not luck.

either send it to sony to have them fix it (fee of course) or try pandora's battery to fix it. if you try pandora's battery and it doesn't work, DO NOT mention to sony that you tried that. they will most likely refuse to fix the system.

i think ur flash0 is corrupted. update ur psp to any custom firmware and downgrade it again using easydowngrader. now when its 1.50 try to boot into recovery mode. if booted then ur flash is ok. or use pandora as said above. this might solve ur problem.

Thanks for that, unfortunately I cant get into the recovery mode. When I hold down the right shoulder button and power on it just boots into the normal mode.
