Im trying to stream video to my PS3
it says I can't connect to the server, whats going on?
do I need to go turn my PS3 on..whats happening?

Yes your PS3 needs to be on. I'm assuming that the "you can't connect to the server" was a message that you read when you tried to connect to TVersity with the PS3.
Turn off your PC's firewall as I had the same issue when i tried to connect my friends PS3 to TVersity. I was able to connect to TVersity after turning off the firewall. Note also that if your using a router you don't need a fire wall as your router is like a firewall only better.

Okay because the PS3 wouldn't even detect it

Try restarting the server. Right click on the icon on the bottom right of your pc and select start server. It doesn't automatically start itself when you open the application.

Yup. My friend PS3 would say server not found when we tried to connect it to TVersity. As soon as we turned off his windows firewall it was detected and we were able to set it up.

TVersity doesnt automatically add the ports to your firewall.
You have to manually add TVersity.exe and Mediaserver.exe to your list.
