Hi im trying to burn some random files such as pictures, mp3s, videos onto a memorex dvd -r 16x. I just realized after my 5th failure that memorex aint the best brand out there.
im using Liteon SOHW-1633S with the latest firmware and Nero express 6 with the latest software.
During the verification process itll freeze and if i disable verify after burn, itll burn sucessfully, but when i open it up... it is a blank disc.
Any help would be appreciated thx :)
How should i tackle this? Would a different burning program besides Nero solve this? Is it my Liteon problem? should i flash it to another firmware? Or is it just my media? I really hope i can use my memorex since i got 100 of them...

Disc Manufacturer: CMC MA - G. AM3

not sure on these but i dont think there good?

i use RITEK GO5 or TY (verbs)

also your writing very close to outer edge:
Last possible write address on media: 2297887 (510:38.37, 4488MB)
Last address to be written: 2228527 (495:13.52, 4352MB)

also you dont have much ram left! are you doing other stuff while burning?

Physical memory : 511MB (523500kB)
Free physical memory: 127MB (130276kB)

--------------------

6.6.1.18 version was the best version, stable

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

Verbatim 16xDVD-R (MCC 03RG20) or Velocity 8xDVD-R (OPTODISCR008)
which 1 has more chance of working on my SOHW-1633s?

i would GUESS? at Verbatim 16xDVD-R (MCC 03RG20)

my verbs are:

Media Information
Region information N/A not a DVD-VIDEO
Media code/Manufacturer ID TYG03
Format Capacity Blank Disc
Free Blocks 411107328
Free Capacity 4.38GB/4.71GB
Book Type DVD-R
Media Type DVD-R
Manufacturer Rated Speed 16.0x 22160KBps
Available Write Descriptor CLV 16.0x 22160KBps
Available Write Descriptor CLV 12.0x 16620KBps
Available Write Descriptor CLV 8.0x 11080KBps
Available Write Descriptor CLV 6.0x 8310KBps
Write Strategy Speed 4.0x 5540KBps

also burn half the rated speed, and dont fully load the dvdr to full capacity. also do nothing while burning, you dont have much ram! reboot pc then do project straight away, more freed up ram spare

Nothing here to see, move along folks.
