hello there hope i am posting this in right section. when i use convertxtodvd to convert my avi files i can not play them back on my pc . when i put disc in it just says it blank but they play fine on dvd player. anyone any idea. thanks.

Give us more info, do you just convert with Convertxtodvd or also do the burn? What discs do you use? Your player might not support that format. What burner do you have?

i use convertx todo the whole thing convert and burn. i use dvd+r disc,s and have a Pioneer dvd-rw dvr-106d 1.06 drive. its just at one point im sure it played them back. maybe i have changed something in xp settings. cheers.

are you fianlizing the dvdr?
are you booktyping thoses dvd +R's to dvd-rom?
what is the dye info on the disc? as i have seen cheapy media once burnt not be read by a pc drive after, happened to me and others here.
is your firmware upto date? the 106D is an old drive, i still got one but dont use much...

thanks for reply is there some where on convertx which i could have changed the fianlizing the disc option. because im sure it played them before.

are you useing another disc brand? if not
and you bought another batch of the same type use dvd identifier or dvd infopro or imgburn to tell us/you the media code on the discs for a good burn and anot good burn id codes...

had a go with dvd identifier this is what i got. 1.disc type dvd+r 2.made by advance media limited 3. ID AML 4. media type 002 the rest it could not get.

could be cheapo media problem here...
those arnt id codes i heard of? most people here use verbatims with TY dye code i also use RITEK GO5 both good medias...
you could try booktyping your +R to dvd-rom makes them more compatible in players...

its done on burning stage if your drive allows it, software can booktype like imgburn you set it...
quick google and i dont think your 106D booktypes sorry...
change media to something good.

think u are right mate just had a go of some stuff i did ages ago on some other disc,s they are ok. should have done that first. sorry for wasteing your time. all the best Muay.
