Anyone here have the Playstation Eye? If so, do any of you know how to change the resolution--if you can? The instructions that came with it are terrible. All it tells you is how to plug it in (thanks!). Whenever I view a recording or picture, it's a lot grainier than it should be (or at least what I was expecting, considering all the video previews we've seen of it).

There is no way to change the resolution.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

Audio Features:
Omni-directional four microphone linear array
4 channel ADC IC chip
16 bit at SNR 90db, up to 48kHz audio sampling rate

Video Features:
6 or 75 degrees field of view zoom lens
Fixed-focus, 1ft to infinity (manual adjustment not required)
640 x 480 at 60 frames/second
320 x 240 at 120 frames/second
8 bit or 10 bit dynamic range
USB 2.0 high-speed transfer
Uncompressed video or optional JPEG compression

As you see the maximum resolution is 640 x 480,which will make it grainy,it would have been nice if sony had made the Playstation Eye HD.

Is there a way to go by 320x240 at 120 frames/second, rather than 640x480? Actually, now that I think about it, it's probably just turning the lens from the right to the left. lol.

I will hardly use this for video purposes (as of now). The major reason why I asked for it for Christmas is because of its microphone capabilities.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I think it's great, and its potential, even better. I was reading about it in the magazine formerly known as PSM. The possibilities are great. Like I said, though, right now, I just use it as a microphone.

Same thing was going on with mine, oddly enough after a day or do of having it plugged in the picture quality improved dramatically all of a sudden for no reason. The same thing happened to my frined aswell, go figure =/
