can someone tell me what folding@home is, and if you would recomend it. the only reason why i dont want to install it is because i dont know wat it is, and if i install it, would it make my internet slower or anything like that.

"Alzheimer's, cancer, Parkinson's and cystic fibrosis all involve proteins being folded wrong in some way or another. It's a complicated process that scientists are trying to understand in hopes of creating cures and preventative measures for these ailments."

Thats where Folding@home comes in. Hopes on understanding these diseases more and maybe find a cure.

The only time folding@home uses the internet power is when it is downloading work units and uploading the results. They rarely take more than 10 seconds to finish downloading.
