when i install i game my cpu runs at 100% when i listin to music on my dvd drive it runs at 100% and same with watching movies so anything with audio goes static like, i burn a disc and it takes forever to burn like 45 mins for a dvd at fast speed.

it did this before i ended up crashing my computer for a few reasons and it was fixed, now its doing it again ive cleaned the lazor and tried updating firmware but it finds nothing and just hangs

is DMA enabled for the drive?

have you an ASPI layer installed?

were all the eide drivers installed from your motherboard disc?

what drive is it?

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

yeah sounds like a DMA issue. your drives are probably in PIO mode, in device manager uninstall the IDE controllers reboot the machine and windows will reinstall it correctly, or use this guide
