Downgrading psp (3.71)- (using only ONE psp)

i inserted the gta in, and scrolled right to GAME (thers the icon of the GTA, and under it it says " PSP(tm) UPDATE VER 2.00)
thats unpatched right?
And it was my second uncle who lended me his psp, he's not very into this upgrading/downgrading buisness, all he cares about is that he is able to play his umd games/listen to music/view vids (like a usual PSP).
So my downgrading his PSP to 1.5 should have no effect right?

That is the unpatched version.
So go to the provided link on the first page and follow the guide to downgrade his PSP to 1.50 custom firmware.
After you have done that go HERE and follow this guide to create a Pandora Battery + Universal Unbricker to install custom firmware to your PSP and you can use this to install custom firmware to your uncles 1.50 PSP as well.
When following the guide to make the Pandora battery follow the section for 1.50 firmware PSP's.

+ could some one please remind me of all the risks that i may go through doing this/how bad they are?
+ could some one tell me/be kind enough to give me a link to a 3.03 upgrader (as i hear ther are alot of fakes out there)

O nevermind, thers a link provided in the FAQ section.
Here i go people, im so scared that i might brick his psp. Any tips on how to avoid all chances of that happening?

Theres always a chance of bricking if you don't follow the steps properly. So follow them properly. Make sure the Battery is charged above 75% and always keep the PSP pluged in via Ac Adepter.
The link we have provided already has the 3.03 update linked and is perfectly fine to use.

i just downloaded the 3.03 UPDATE, Where in my psp do i put the 11844_EBOOT.PBP
and after i leave it in the correct place and disconnect my psp from the usb, where do i go to click on this update

rename it to just EBOOT.PBP drop the 11844_ part of the name.
Then create a new folder in the /PSP/GAME directory and name it UPDATE.
Then drag the EBOOT.PBP into that UPDATE folder.
So the directory will be...
ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP
Then go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the 3.03 update from there.

Done that...waiting for update to complete then i will follow the guide in the link provided above.
Hopefully that will go smoothly, and will come back to ask you guys about installing pandoras batt/magic stick.

one small problem.
The folder in the 3.03dg is "psp"
When i try to copy it into the root directory of my memory stick, it says the same name exists (which is PSP)...do u still want to move or copy this folder?
i press yes right? or would that overwrite the already existing PSP folder?

why should i use it on my uncles, he doesnt want/need a pandora battery, and to be honest i wanna leave it as it is now (1.5), dont wanna make drastic changes to his psp anymore, unless he askes me to.

I follow this right;
PANDORA GUIDE: THOSE THAT HAVE 1.50 FIRMWARE PSP
and is downgrading it to 3.71-M33 very good, (would it be better to jus downgrade it to 1.5 or a small number like that).
I dont wnana get 3.71m33 and then find out i cant do something with the 3.71-M33 that i would be able to with something like a 1.5.
(Sorry if its confusing)

Im waiting for the univer_file to download.
Any advice/help/answers to my questions before i start if highly appreciated.
Im shit-scared about this becuase not only will i (if i fuck up) brick/brake my psp but my uncles too.

OMG, IM HAving a panic attack
i just inserted GTA LCS in my uncles (ver 1.5) psp and it says "to start, you must update the system software"<<what does that mean
and when i go ot the ver 2.00 update under it, it say something like "this update is not appacable with this system"
SOME PLEASE HELP

just read up somewhere on this and it said i have to upgrade 2 a custom firmware ( 3.71 M33-2).
So larrylje you were right, sorry to question anything you said.
Now 5 more minutes till i start the whole pandora buisness, would really appreciat it if someone can answer my quesiton and take me through it. Please people. I know im a pain right now, but i seriously dont wanna fuck it up, i only have one go at it

Yes the reason I said to update to 3.71 M33-4 on both PSP's is due to 1.50 not playing most of the PSP games. You need a higher firmware requirement.
Just follow the guide and make sure after using the Pandora Battery + Magic memory Stick to get to 3.71 M33-2 you run the 3.71 M33-4 update.
As to the 1.50 guide question. Yes use that guide to create the Pandora Battery.
it isn't that hard if you just follow the guide I provided.

Oh, thank you, now i understand.
the idea of the guide is i use my uncles psp (but with my battery) through out the guide and then at the end, i jus insert the newly modified battery back in my psp?
that bit confuses me, sorry i no it might stupid, but its not clear on which psp/battery i should be using, mine or my uncles (the 'other' psp)

Just follow the guide it is idot proof.
For the Pandora Part use this guide...
PANDORA GUIDE: THOSE THAT HAVE 1.50 FIRMWARE PSP
Go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the Pandora Battery Creator.
Press triangle to backup the battery eeprom. The PSP will then reboot to XMB.
Run the Pandora Battery Creator again via Game Menu Memory Stick and press X to convert the Battery to service mode. The PSP will reboot to XMB. Now turn off the PSP and do the below.
DO THE BELOW PART ON BOTH YOUR PSP AND YOUR UNCLES
Place the Magic memory Stick in the PSP then place the Pandora Battery in. A menu will come up choose X so it install 3.71 M33 to the PSP (It actually will install 3.71 M33-2).
AFTER BOTH PSP's HAVE 3.71 M33-2 INTSALLED DO THE BELOW TO CONVERT YOUR BATTERY BACK TO NORMAL...
After the custom firmware is installed take out the Battery and plug the PSP in via AC Adapter and turn the PSP on (without the Battery inserted).
After the PSP boots to XMB place the Battery into the PSP and go to Game Menu Memory Stick and select OS Pandora Battery Tool.
You will get a warning screen just press X to get to the Main Menu. When the Main Menu comes up go to "flash only serial from mso:/eeprom.bin"
Go to Quiet Now and it will exit to the XMB. Now turn off the PSP and unplug it from AC Adapter. Now Take out the Battery then re-insert the Battery replacing the battery cover and use as normal now..
