OK, I have been burning movies for quite sometime. Suddenly, I download a new movie, and get the error: cannot write medium - incompatible format. I get the same error, whether it be with Nero, DVDShrink--burning thru Nero, ConvertxtoDVD, and IMGBurn. I can post the error logs if that will help, from all programs.

My firmware is up to date, I have already updated this.

My hard drive has plenty of free space - I removed several programs & freed up lots of space at the first error.

I have tried new programs - recently added ImgBurn to try. I have tried to burn movies that I have successfully burned in the past - it's not just a new movie I downloaded, and i have tried several of them.

My burner still successfully burns working cd-r's, or music cd's, so I would imagine that it's not a problem with the burner.

Any other suggestions??

Here is the error log w/ ImgBurn - most others look the same.

you got 2 drives? I 21:26:49 Found 1 CD-RW and 1 DVD-RW!

could be DMA issue... check for "dma enabled" in device manager

uninstall device controllers in device manager and reboot pc

Was afraid of that too. Nothing else has worked so I guess I'll try a new one. Thanks.

I've tried about 4 different brands of DVD's, in dvd+r & dvd-r format, not finished w/ the dma yet - i do not know anything about it & am having to research it. It appears windows can adjus the dma itself, correct? any suggestions on how to check/change it?
