Still no reply, I hate this waiting thing. I was so hyped about it last week and now it's like "wtf".

Well if I do not get it by end of this week then I will not be able to get it so I am hoping Chris will let me know how I can pay him and if he can get it to me by this weekend.

That does sound weird. I hope you find something you do like if you can't get your hands on an Obutto. But just to let you know that the Obutto gets shipped by ground (as it weighs over 100 lbs.) and depending on where you are, it can take up to 5-7 days.

This is my first bad experience with a seller. 2 weeks and after several emails later still nothing.

Not sure what is going on but I am very disappointed.

I hope nothing happened to him, as he has always been a stand up guy with purchases from the RaceSimCentral forums. You should try posting up the situation over there, maybe he will read/explain more over there as that is where I found him.

Yep it is amongst lots of other other things. While I am at it, I have updated the first page with some new pics of my re-worked setup after tidying up the wires. I even made a quick little Youtube video to go with it (but I'll be adding the vid a bit later).

Hey Oner,
I have a question for you in regards to the G25 compared to other Steering wheels just as xopher.

I first used the DFP and then decided to get the G25 but when I got it the feel was totally different as the G25 was a bit loose. Does your G25 feel a bit loose compared to the DFP?

Now since they make a wheel just for the GT5 the DF GT I want to try to see how good that one is compared to the G25. Frankly the only thing that is holding me back is the quality of the G25.

Oh yeah, I still have not gotten the sim chair yet. Hopefully he will have some more later.

I haven't had the chance to try a DFP so I couldn't help there...though from my understanding from the RSC forums the G25 has a better/smoother feel in comparison to any other wheel below it (price wise). I agree that it is hard to pass on the quality/price/options & compatibility when it comes to the G25!

As for Chris over at Obutto I heard he was back ordered for some time as he had a really great Holiday rush (hopefully I may have contributed to that in some way) and he has to wait on a new shipment from overseas (as that is where they are manufactured for him). Hopefully you will have some good luck on getting one soon!

Now onto GT5P (US)...I have already beaten the C,B & A classes which have unlocked the "Quick Tune" options for use with the S class which has opened up. I will probably jump back and forth between Online play, The S Class & the Manufacturer Events to extend the rest of what is left.

I was expecting the Online part to be a bit more like Motorstorm with the what I have heard about the JP & EU release but so far in the 30 or so races I have done online I have to say it hasn't been too bad. I have come in 2nd like 3 times, last once (really bad destruction derby type race with others on that one!) & placed 1st every other time, though I haven't ventured into Intermediate or Expert yet as I just unlocked the Quick Tune.

I do suggest getting an Integra Type R for your first car and even before playing through the game to go online and win some money/gain some experience. As that helped me to beat the game easier since I had enough money to buy whatever vehicle was needed/wanted. Plus if you analyze the races that are coming up you can kill a couple of things at once with only 1 vehicle! Ex: You have to buy an Evo IX for one event but that car can also be used for the AWD events, the same goes for the GT-R/Sports car races/Japenese events in the B class.

All in all GT5P has surpassed what I was expecting from it, I am a bit surprised by that too as I was bracing myself for the online component to be horrible! Thankfully, for what it is & offers I am still shocked people complain about it and continue to call it a $40 "Demo"...that STILL really does bug me! Not to worry though, at least those "noobs" won't be playing online riding the walls or crashing in me & others while missing out on what in essence it a really great preview of what is to come...more so especially once some of the DLC (private rooms, damage modeling, mic option) is released over the next few months!

The DF GT is supposed to be totally different as it's made specificially for the GT5P and that is the comparison that I am interested in....it's like plastic or leather...hmmm

I being in contact with Chris actually. I was actually trying to help him ship his merchandise over here since I am in the freight forwarding business. Very nice guy he is.

The GT5P is awesome in my opinion but haven't really gotten the chance to play as work occupies most of my time right now.

Are we able to use the 6-speed shifter on the US version because you had mentioned that before but I have not unlocked the licenses yet so just wanted to check with you on that.

Have not yet found use of the 6-speed shifter yet as I cannot stand Nascar so that game is out of the question and since I don't have NFSC nor will I plan on getting it that shifter is just useless right now.

The 6 speed & clutch does work just press triangle to enable it ~ though if you change button assignments like I do it is the reverse, also you have to have the right vehicle to use it. Ex: You can't use the clutch OR 6 speed with the GT-R or the Amuse S2000 since both cars don't come in manual form IRL only as a "tiptronic" type paddle shift.

oner im really interested in buying this setup but i have some questions. how loose was the wheel, did it seem like you could turn to easly, meaning it was really loose. and i heard the "real" grand turismo 5 was coming out in june?

Then the pirate selling games relabeled Assassins Creed 1 and called it Assassins Creed 2. This is called marketing.
Your friend is honest and thinks she plays AC2 on a PS3. In reality she is playing AC1 on a PS2.

You can adjust the force of the wheel in the options from weak to strong & even add/remove "power assist" ~ it basically simulates power steering like a real car. So you have a wide range of choices to fiddle with. As for GT5 coming out this June 08, you have had some misinformation.

GT5 will not be released until Summer of 2009, GT5 Prologue is a preview of what GT5 will be like. This is something Polyphony Digital has done previously twice already with GT Concept & GT4 Prologue, it is just something "new" to us people in America (unless they where imported like I did) and that is why uninformed people feel the need to call it a "demo" when it is absolutely not.

If you have followed GT 1,2,3 or 4 then you will not be disappointed with GT5P. But if this is your first GT series title, I suggest renting it first just in case you do not happen to enjoy it and want to wait until GT5.

Oh man, so the GT5 is being delayed till 2009 afterall. I was hoping that to be just a rumor but hey it will be worth it.

This delay will only mean that it will be even better since they are working on it some more.

Playing GT5P with the G25 is awesome since this is the first true game that has good graphics and I can use the shifter & clutch. Thanks for showing me how to activate the shifter sir.

I had to actually reduce the feed back to 5 from 10 cause my arms were getting tired....lol.

What do you guys think of logitech's grand turismo edition steering wheel? It even has buttons on it to adjust traction control and other things on the fly.

That wheel is pretty cool for the price for people that does not have the DFP already. I actually picked up the old DFP for $60 bux from Walmart to race with my friends.

The new GT wheel with the red knob is nothing special as you can program any wheel to utilize those functions.

For me on the G25, I program the right red buttom on the wheel to access the menu and use the arrows for scrolling thru the menu and to make the changes on the fly which is basically the same.

If you are thinking about getting a wheel go with the G25 cause the new GT wheel is already $150bux why not spend a few more dollars to get something even better. Online you can get it for around $220.

Sorry man, the only discount that was available was when he had a minor production run issue which resulted in the Powder Coat being a bit flawed (that is when I jumped on one since the original price is $250).
